You have an egg hanging out your bum

Have you ever seen a chicken running around with a half-laid egg hanging out of her vent?

I have, at my friend's house, and the memory still makes me giggle.

Said chicken was in her nest box doing her laying, when she heard a rumour there was toast up for grabs.

No way was she going to let the other chickens hog all the tasty toast action, so she abandoned her egg-laying and hurtled outside to chase the toast.

She reminded me of you.

But don't take offence, because she also reminded me of me.

Most of us are starters, not finishers. We're entrepreneurs, so we're easily excited and enthused by new ideas and big plans and the next shiny thing — but when it comes to finishing what we started...? Writing that book? Launching that course?

We're like chickens running around with a half-laid idea-egg hanging out of our backsides.

Someone comes along with a delicious piece of tactical toast, and we abandon our half-laid egg mission.

It's what happens when we get panicky and unfocused and lose sight of our goal. It's what happens when we get overwhelmed and the weight of Things To Do start pressing down on us.

Those bright shiny objects, those cure-all magic beans offered by all those experts, that new idea that just seems easier... they start to look pretty tempting.

After all, writing a book is hard work. It's uncomfortable. It can be exhausting at times.

If you can just stick with it, though, and finish what you started, you'll be in the tiny, successful minority of author-entrepreneurs. But it takes a lot of grit to do that. So when someone comes along and offers you a magic pill that promises to easily put your goal within your grasp right now, with little effort, it's exciting.

The problem is, though, it's just another distraction. Just another piece of toast.

An expensive piece of toast, at that – because if it doesn't work (and it almost certainly won't) it's a waste of your money.

Here's the thing: there is no such sorcery that will magically get your book written, your course created, fix all your problems, bury you in a big mound of moolah, and conjure up customers.

You have to make it happen for yourself.

But you don't have to do it alone and you don't have to flounder around from one tactic to another. You need something that'll take you from "how on earth do I even start writing this book" all the way to "yay I've written and published a book" – taking Tiny Beetle Steps that won't overwhelm you.

Here is my promise to you: I will never offer you toast.

Instead, I will get you focused on laying that book egg – and I will walk you through the whole process, step by Tiny Beetle Step.

And all you have to invest is 15 notes and the time it takes to read my new book.
Pre-order it now, and it'll be with you in early November – and you'll get a whole host of goodies in the meantime to get you started.

This time next year, you don't want to look back and think "what if?"

I want you to have your book in your hand and think "bloody hell, look what I made".

Get started now:

p.s. the half-laid egg is an absolutely true story. Chickens are hilarious.
