Day 2: What do you want to change about your life?

Ooh now here’s another deep question and I promise that tomorrow will be silly.

But it is January 2, and the world is hurling “new beginnings” at us, so we may as well join in.

Is there anything you want to change about your life? Maybe it’s a big thing or a small thing. A sweeping lifestyle change or a bedroom redecoration.

Every year, Joe and I have an advent calendar. It’s one of those reusable ones with little drawers, and in the past we’ve just stuffed sweets in them.

Not this past Christmas, though.

Because a thing I wanted to change about my life was having more quality time with Joe. We both work really hard and we spend a lot of our free time renovating our ridiculous cottage… and I wanted more time for adventures away from the dust.

So as well as chocolates in the advent calendar drawers, we each wrote an idea for something to do on a piece of paper for each door. We’ve folded them all up and put them into a big jar, and a couple of times a month we’ll pull out an idea and then go and do it.

They range from “find the highest point within 15 miles and walk up to it” all the way to “indoor skydiving.”

That’s a lot of fun stuff to do.

And you? Is there anything you’d like to change about your life? Why? If not, why is it perfect as it is?

Happy writing!

TTFN,

Vicky
