Day 30: When did you last try something new?

I know it sounds like a cliche, but it’s true: trying new stuff, staying curious, boosts creativity.

It boosts our brains and our mental health.

It keeps us youthful, as Collette Maze would probably agree.

So, when was the last time you tried something new?

For me, it was a couple of weeks ago. Joe and I went to a local pottery workshop to try out potting.

Anyway, we made things with our hands out of clay, and it was so fun.

Also very peaceful.

I found that everything else melted away, while I squished clay between my fingers.

Then I had a go at the potter’s wheel and it all got very hectic…

But we made something with our hands, and it was beautiful and fun, and we’re going to do it again soon. In fact, we’ve decided that we’re going to make all our plates and cups and tableware ourselves, at this pottery place, over the next couple of years.

Or, in my case, probably the next 6 months—before I find something else to obsess over.

Over to you.

When’s the last time you tried something new?

Set a timer for 5 minutes, and write about it now.

Happy writing!
