Joe and I have been married for 13 years today!
It doesn’t seem like anything like that long. It does seem that I am so very lucky. He’s amazing.
He sees all of me, including the awful stuff, and he loves me anyway. He’s on my side. He fights for us, and he works so hard to build a life and a home for us. And he goes along with all my crazy schemes, and picks up the trail of destruction I leave behind me.
And he is funny.
Anyway, 13 years is lace, apparently, so I’ve bought him some glow-in-the-dark shoelaces because he always leaves his laces undone and then trips over them.
This is how we roll.
Some of our anniversary gifts are things of beauty: I bought him a beautiful knife early on, and cosy pyjamas, and stuff.
He bought me some bronze elephant bookends which are some of my favourite things. And a fountain pen. And an owl letter opener.
And then, I bought him a salt lick one year because I couldn’t afford the sundial I knew he’d love (one day). And this year, of course, there's the glow-in-the-dark shoelaces.
I’m still being punished for the salt lick.
Which is fair enough really.
So your prompt for today is: write about wedding anniversaries. Or any anniversaries.
5 minutes. Go.
TTFN,
Vicky
