Day 14: Trainspotting

Your writing prompt for today is “trainspotting”—either the hobby, or the book/film.

Whenever I think of Trainspotting I always think of “the worst toilet in Scotland” scene, and how it’s absolutely masterfully filmed and written.

It’s a prime example of drilling down to the deepest images, the tiniest details, to produce a scene so richly evocative you can’t help but feel like you’re there. Which, in this case, is fairly horrifying.

I also flipping love trains. LOVE trains. Love travelling on them, writing on them, people watching on them.

I get a lot of writing and thinking done on trains.

So, over to you.

What does “trainspotting” make you think of?

Set a timer and go go go.

Happy writing!

TTFN,

Vicky
