I guess you might need more than two skills, but let’s start with two.
Two core skills you absolutely couldn’t do your job without.
I’ll start: I need to be a great listener, and a great asker of questions, to do my job as a nonfiction book coach.
Maybe this is surprising; maybe you’d expect me to say I have to be a great writer or a great editor. Certainly that helps. And I do have to recognise great and poor writing.
But ultimately, the two things I need most are listening and questioning.
Your turn—set a timer for 5 minutes and write about your core skills, and why they matter to what you do.
Happy writing!
TTFN,
Vicky
