I’ve been reading Selfie by Will Storr (which is utterly fascinating btw) and I’m learning all sorts about the self.
How it’s a social construct.
How we’re shaped by everything around us.
How there really isn’t any “true core self” because, as Walt Whitman said, we contain multitudes. We are who we need to be at any given time, for different people.
So, how many selves do you think you are?
Can you identify them all?
How are they different from one another?
Do you think you have a core authentic self? Do you disagree with me and Will Storr? Why?
