Following on from “when do you write” is “where?”
I know some people can work anywhere — noisy cafés, squished between people on a bus, in a kids’ playcentre with screaming all around…
I am not one of those people.
If I have my noise-cancelling headphones, I do like being in a café…
And if I’m taking a long train journey I love working on a train…
But otherwise it’s too hectic.
My happy place is my office, or a library.
I need quiet.
My writing space is calm and warm and bright and soft and comfy and cosy and I love it. I made it exactly how I want it to be.
I am very lucky.
Your turn: set a timer for 5 minutes and write about your writing space.
Happy writing!
TTFN,
Vicky
